Kate Imbach is a screenwriter based between Los Angeles and Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her scripts focus on modernizations of iconic women from literature and ambitious adaptations of stories ripped from today’s headlines.

From 2023 - 2025 she write Dutch Deadline, a popular weekly newsletter providing in-depth analysis of Dutch current affairs. Her non-fiction work has appeared in Quartz (USA), The Toronto Star (Canada), Público (Portugal), and many others. From 2017 – 2018 she had a regular column in the magazine FD Persoonlijk (the Netherlands). She directed, produced and edited the documentary short films The Taxi Composer (2012), The Mayor of Noe Valley (2013) and The Last Video Store (2014). Her film Partners (2016) premiered at the 2016 San Francisco International Film Festival. 

Previously, she worked at a number of technology startups in Boston and Silicon Valley. She began with a project management position at m-Qube (acquired by Verisign), and went on to run the marketing departments at Skyhook (acquired by TruePosition), 8tracks and Showyou (acquired by Vevo). 

She completed a Master's in Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the New York University Writer's Workshop in Paris in 2019, a Master's in Public Administration from Suffolk University Sawyer Business School in 2008, and a Bachelors of Arts in Government from Skidmore College in 2003.
